Hey Y'all!  I am so excited to share a beautiful project with you today.  Plus, it's close to my heart, because I'm featured in the book!  It's a super fun project you have got to get started on so you are ready to share all the joy by the time the holidays get here!!

Peppermint Lane by It's Sew Emma is a block of the month book that has some truly unique and fun blocks!  From stockings to ornaments, to gingerbread boys and gift boxes, you will not be disappointed!  Month 12 covers finishing your quilt and the directions are clear and easy to follow.  Regardless if you start with the block of the month, or skip right to the bonus quilt in the back of the book, I promise you will love them.  The book is available now through The Fat Quarter Shop and it's the only place you will find these quilt patterns.  Get it while you can!

I had the pleasure of piecing and quilting the bonus North Star Quilt that is featured in the back of the book, and it was honestly one of my favorite quilts ever! 
​This feature fabric is Vintage Holiday collection by Bonnie and Camille for Moda Fabrics, and it's absolutely perfect for this pattern!  The colors will sweep you off your feet.  

This Bonus quilt is so pretty, you can plan to
keep it out even after the holidays have passed.  

Once the piecing is complete I always take the tops outside for a few pictures. 
It was a beautiful day here in Austin Texas that day, and I love this shot so much!  It's fun to see your labor of love under a bright sunny sky....

Once the piecing is all done, the fun part begins!
I have a Handi Quilter Avante' long arm in my sewing studio, and she and I have some good times with needle and thread!  My long arm is not computerized, so everything I do is free hand.  I love the thread therapy!!  ​Since I was once an art major, I find this part very rewarding.  It allows me to really make my own rules and be creative, and I that love!
