Classic and Vintage double nine patch

Happy New Year, Y'all!  It's been a while since I have blogged, lots of holiday stuff going on around here.  Life is fast!   But I gotta show you a quick little block from The Fat Quarter Shop!  You can find this pattern on their website, and its awesome because it offers multiple size options, so you can make the quilt just right for that special someone!
The pattern is a classic and vintage series double nine patch block, and it goes together very fast and is a great block for a beginner.  The pattern is clearly written and easy to understand, and its a great pattern to make with fabric you have in your stash.  This classic block is perfect to make an adorable little baby quilt, because you can really have some fun with colors!  Switch it up and go crazy with scraps!
In case you don't know, I LOVE the color RED!  So I used some of my favorite red scraps with a touch of yellow, because this classic block makes me think of summers with my Grandma on the farm and I know she'd love these colors together!
I nested my seams and got some good matching points, I never iron my seams open!

And there is my finished block!  You can check out this, and many other fun projects on the Fat Quarter Shop website, oh and please share your projects on social media and tag us!  Also check me out on Instagram too, I post lots of fun projects there too!  @gina_tell_carpequiltin

    Hey y'all,
    I'm Gina Tell...

Thanks for checking out with my blog!  I started quilting around 2003 when I first moved to Austin Texas, and I knew absolutely nothing about a sewing machine! My journey started with lots of mistakes, and questions, because social media tutorials didn't really exist at that time.  I will be telling some of the ridiculous stories of my early sewing days, some handy sewing tips, and sharing some of the fun sewing projects I do for the Fat Quarter Shop!
