You’ve been asking… and Fat Quarter Shop is finally ready to share! Sewcialites 3 is officially starting in February 2026, and I'm sewing along! Starting February 20th, and every Friday until August 21st (that's my Birthday - let's have a party) FQS will release a new FREE block pattern from one of the 25 sew-talented designers, and I will sew my 3" blocks on my YouTube channel. I'm using Wild Honey by Lella Boutique to make the tiny little 3" blocks (omg I thought I had lost my mind ha ha, but they are really pretty fun!) Then, Kimberly Jolly will be using Lyda Rose for Bunny Hill Designs to make the 6" blocks, and Pat Sloan will be using Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts to make the 9" blocks. subscribe to my YouTube Channel for weekly videos! The Sewcialites 3 Information Packet includes the fabric requirements for all three quilt sizes, a coloring sheet to help you plan your fabric placements, the complete block schedule, and a list of optional foundation paper supplies. Here is a close up of what my 3" layout will look like below As always, if you want to start prepping for Sewcialites 3 early with fabrics you already love from your stash, here are some suggestions for what to grab based on the size of blocks you plan to make:
Yay, it's a sharable button, simple copy it and paste it to your social media to let your friends know you are sewing along! Here are the patterns for the previous Sewcialites1 and Sewcialites 2 they are available anytime, if you want to start on one of those to practice. I can't wait to sew along with you in February, please subscribe to my YouTube Channel so you don't miss anything! Oh and share your progress with the #Sewcialites3 hashtag so we can see and share your work! Happy quilting!

I love the quilt and am hoping to participate in the quilt along. I am a beginner quilter so I think the 9 inch squares would work better for me. My husband was in the Air Force so I thought I would honor him with a patriotic quilt with maybe some Air Force printed fabric mixed in. Not sure how that will work, but I think I’m up for the challenge. I don’t have much experience or supplies at this time, so a list of what things to purchase would be greatly appreciated. Such things as what type of ruler, cutting mat, rotary cutter, or whatever else is necessary or to make things easier. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Barb Feran

I'm excited for you, it's going to be a lot of fun! I was a guest for a super great beginner series that Fat Quarter Shop hosted a few years ago, you can check it out. They go over all the tools and things to help a beginner get started. I join in the last few videos where I share some tips on quilting. I think the six inch would be my favorite for this round. Haven’t decided fabric yet.
