Quilted Snowman sew along with Gina Tell **jan-Nov 2025

Hey y'all who's ready to have some fun in the snow?! The Quilted Snowman Quilt Along will be running for eleven months, starting January 25th and ending November 29th of 2025.  I'll be sewing along with Fat Quarter Shop and several other quilty friends and we will all be sharing our monthly progress photos and videos on social media.  You can read the full schedule below,  I hope you will join me!!   

Here is the first progress picture I have taken for this quilt along, I got a few little snowball blocks started and then I decided I wanted to switch my fabrics up a little.  I did purchase the fabric kit but I am going to use a grey background for mine, and I also ordered some white fabrics to mix in for my snowman, you know me, I love to switch things up!

Well, I got a little behind on my snowman, but it's August and I am caught up now so I'm SEW excited that I will be right on time for the Holidays!  I made a few changes with the fabrics that I used, and then once I got going I realized I had a few other things that I wanted to change too.  I decided I didn't want the piece of the scarf flowing sideways in the breeze so I filled that area with star blocks instead.  Then, I was in the shower one morning and I was thinking about my snowman and I remembered that when I was a kid we used to build our snowman on top of the sled so we could drag him around with us while we played on the Chicago snow days, so a new change started!!  The next time you hear from me, I will have my snowman on a red sled, how fun!!

We have a sled, Y'all!!  I got my inspiration from the Ice Skate block in Lori Holt's Vintage Christmas book and it was a big challenge but I’m SEW pumped that part is done. I’ll take more pics in good light after I add the big tree and borders.....

It's getting so close, I still need to make the big tree that goes next to the little tree, and add borders, then the fun longarm quilting parts starts!!
